hello. Spotlight, where we meet the models our brands are looking for.
Every day, we see different models in advertisements, magazines, fashion shows, and more. It used to be that when I thought of "model," the first thing that came to mind was an image of someone strutting down a runway or a modeling shoot. But right now, I'm thinking of a lot of different types of model images, from home shopping models to hair models. Depending on the criteria, there are many different categories of models. For now, we'll only introduce the most common kinds of models that we're familiar with.

Fashion models
High-fashion models, also known as editorial models, can be found in high-fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle. Pose for creative photo shoots and set trends as the "muse" for a particular fashion designer or brand. They don't just model for magazines, they represent the brand. They run campaigns and commercials, grace magazine covers, and appear on social media and other digital outlets. They even walk the runway during international fashion weeks. Fashion models can work with a variety of clients, including fashion designers, clothing brands, ad agencies, and fashion magazines.
๐ก Tip one. Height and slimness are important, but so is "personality.

Runway models
You know those fashion audition shows that were all the rage for a while? If you've ever seen a show like "Project Runway" or "Challenge! Watching Supermodel gave me a glimpse into the world of modeling. Think of a runway model as a model walking down a runway in a program like this. Often referred to as fashion models, they walk and pose on the catwalk wearing a designer or brand's merchandise.
Compared to other model types, they have more stringent qualifications, including height and size. The average runway model is 5'10" for men and 5'10" for women, so being tall is a must. In the audition room of a Paris haute couture show, there's a sign that says no one under 178 centimeters.
However, with the recent diversification of the fashion modeling scene, we're seeing a lot of diverse models. Senior and plus-size models are often featured in domestic brand events and event fashion shows, highlighting the diversity of models.
Commercial (commercial) model
Commercial models, which tend to be more rewarding than theother two types of models, are the ones we see most often in our daily lives. This is because they appear in ads for lifestyle products such as clothing, beauty products, household goods, or food. Compared to high fashion models, the barriers to entry are lower and the physical requirements are less demanding. Rather, models are sourced from a variety of body types, including everyday and plus-size modeling. I'd rather see a model with a strong personality than one that's approachable, but beautiful and cool in the neighborhood. Commercial modeling is about selling products or services, so this type of model advertises products through catalogs and campaigns and ads for customers.
๐ก Tip one. It's not too difficult to start out as a fashion model and expand into commercial modeling, but it's not as easy for commercial models to break into high fashion.

Other
There are alsoa lot of hand models for hand and nail products, leg models for shoes and stockings, and hair models for hair product ads. These are typically used to promote commercial products such as jewelry, shoes, gloves, watches, wallets, and other small essential accessories. We're also seeing more and more models from specific businesses, smaller markets, such as swimwear, fitness models, and wedding models.
โ
๐ก Tip one. Height and looks don't matter in the body part modeling market. But certain areas need extra attention, like perfect nails and clear skin.
๐ก One more tip. As the market for health, fitness, and wellness has grown in recent years, we're seeing more modeling opportunities than ever before.
We've identified three main types of models. Nowadays, as the influencer space expands and digital and advertising become more central to the industry, the categories of models are blurring. It's harder to define, "This is this type of model. Most importantly, we have more versatile models who work hard in any field or area. This can make modeling more complicated and difficult for advertisers than it used to be.
