A must-read for busy brands! Essentials for a flawless lookbook shoot and brand campaign

hello. Spotlite, the world's fastest and easiest model casting. In a brand lookbook or commercial, models serve to effectively showcase the product in action, emotionally communicate the brand's message, and help consumers make an emotional connection. This strengthens your brand image and maximizes the marketing and promotion of your products. Whereas in the past, celebrities such as entertainers and sports stars were the primary models and clients were mostly big-name brands, the role of lookbook or commercial modeling has expanded to include influencers, professional models, and ordinary people of all levels of fame, and the barriers to entry for booking and shooting have been lowered. For brands, using models has become an easier and more accessible way to promote than it used to be. However, many clients are still confused, so in this article, I'm going to share with you the elements that you should check before you start a brand lookbook shoot or campaign (commercial).

1. Concepts matter!

: The first step to a successful product shoot is to have a clear concept. The concept sets the direction for the entire shoot. Start with a clear concept to effectively communicate your product's core message, mission statement, and brand identity.

TIP: Create a concept that reflects your brand identity and philosophy. For example, in the case of food brand Pulmuwon, we created ads with a concept that reflects the brand's identity of 'eating right', and in the case of Innisfree, we ran a campaign with a concept set in Jeju Island.

2. Get a model that matches your concept!

: Do you have a concept for the shoot? Then it's time to find a model that fits the concept. Models play a big role in shaping the image of your product, so it's important to make a careful decision when hiring them.

TIP: Don't forget to choose a model that fits your brand image! The model's style, look, and vibe should match your product and brand.

TIP: If you can, try to find a model who has a lot of experience shooting and can handle a variety of poses and facial expressions . The more professional and experienced they are, the smoother the shoot will go and the better the results are likely to be.

3. Organize your shooting location in advance!

: Have an idea of where you want to shoot from the start of your concept. It's a good idea to arrange for a suitable location to capture the mood and message of your product. If you're working with a studio or agency to find a venue, pay extra attention to communication. It's important to communicate clearly and consistently about the purpose, concept, use and brand story of the shoot.

4.I need a photographer with a high level of understanding.

It doesn't matter how good the model is or how beautiful the location is, if the photographer isn't up to the task, the results won't be great. It's important to choose a photographer who understands your product and concept and can capture your subject matter well.

TIP: Review the photographer's portfolio in advance to get a feel for their style and capabilities. We recommend prioritizing photographers who have a lot of experience shooting related products.

5. delicate styling and props.

Small details make a big difference. You can enhance your work by paying attention to the styling and props that complete the details of your shoot. For example, if it's a summer concept shoot, you can use beach props, or if it's a lookbook shoot for the office, you can pair it with appropriate workplace items.
