7 Fashion Trends for S/S 2024
hello. Spotlite, the place where we meet the best models for our brand. Spring is just around the corner. It's almost time to put away the winter clothes and pull out the spring clothes from the back of the closet. The thought of shedding my heavy winter clothes and putting on something lighter and brighter for spring makes me feel good. 'Tis the season for trench coats, cute blouses, and bright flats!
What are some new trends to look out for this upcoming spring? What about key styles from popular brands? Here are 7 fashion trends for 2024 that you might want to add to your wardrobe.
1990s Minimalism
We're back in the Y2K era, known only to those in the know, and now we're in the 1990s.
The retro trend is alive and well this year. In particular, the return of simple shirts, high-waisted pants, and short pants is a nod to classic 1990s minimalism. Clean lines, neutral tones, and classic designs that you can wear for years without getting tired of, instead of revealing logos, are what 1990s minimalism is all about. Some of the most iconic minimalist brands of the 1990s include Helmut Lang, Calvin Klein, and Prada.
Overwhelming rose pattern
There's nothing really special about utilizing "floral" patterns, floral shapes, in spring and summer. But on the S/S runways this year, designers embraced the overwhelming presence of the rose. Simone Rosha, in particular, took it a step further by attaching real roses to her clothes. If you're looking for a shirt or dress with a floral pattern this spring, why not go all out and try a rose?
Shear Material
I think the see-throughsheer look is going to be in full swing. In particular, we're seeing more modern and specific ways to wear shearling, a material that used to be synonymous with bold fashion. Soft, lightweight, and breathable, it's a favorite of many. Techniques like layering and detailing can make your chiffon apparel designs more unique and interesting.
Light Blue
Pastel colors are all the rage for SS 2024. Among them, light blues with a hint of transparency graced the runway. Versace created a doll-like look with sparkly tops and shorts. Fendi showed off form-fitting, sexy dresses, while Alberta Ferretti introduced a cotton jumpsuit that felt like a nightgown with a summer vibe.
In the summer, we recommend choosing outfit items with light blue exposure to show off the elegance of your skin. Light blue creates a cool, fresh, and calming vibe and brightens the complexion.
Advanced Sportswear
Now, sportswear has become a completely normal part of everyday wear. Since the pandemic, athleisure (meaning everyday sportswear) has completely infiltrated our everyday wardrobes. In the spring of 2024, the impact is likely to be even greater. Hooded sweatshirts are now super-sized and replacing casual clothing. Day dresses and monochrome zip-up track tops have become the perfect pairing for denim. Sports apparel like tennis shirts, jogger pants, and leggings are becoming more and more elegant.
Highlighted Pants
Thisone seems to be a favorite of Gen MZ. The days of low-rise waists are thankfully behind us, and highlights are back. This time, I brought the waistline of the pants up to my ribs, almost to the bottom of my chest. Look at any Loewe runway and you'll see models with their pants pulled up and their hands in their pockets. From day to night, from office to date night, the Highlight Pant is the perfect go-to. You can dress it up a bit with jeans, a sweatshirt, or a suspender belt.
Micro Pants
How short is too short?
If you're into fashion, you're probably not surprised by micro pants. From Kendall Jenner to Beyoncé, national and international celebrities have started the trend. These pants, called micro-shorts, are meant to look like you're not wearing them.
However, pants that are too short are unlikely to become street fashion in Korea. You can't walk down the street in your underwear. If you're feeling brave, we recommend pairing them with high boots like Alexander McQueen, an oversized coat, or a knit suit from a brand like Max Mara for an elegant and luxurious look.
